te tritit o waitangi

Intro:
hello bloggers, today i am going to be talking about Te tiriti o waitangi and giving you guys some random facts about it because that was what i learnt watching a video and the things i have wrote i am going to convert it in to sentences.

In the late 1830s the population for maori was 70 to 80,000.

Tino rangatiratanga means chiefly authority or self government well that is what the maori had thought it meant.

Maori believed that  if they had signed the treaty they would have ownership over there land and would always have their own land.

When hone heke had found that the treaty of waitangi was not fair as the europeans had told them hone heke decide to cut down 3 of the europeans flags and the he decided to light the europeans base down.

About 40 chiefs had signed the treaty to keep peace for there land and  for themself and family.

When the treaty was written every thing had changed for the maoris as the europeans had more right then the maori even though it was the maoris land.

Europeans had told maoris the kawanatanga was governorship and the maoris thought thats was  the treaty meant.

The british saw franca as a threat when the treatys was signed because the british had more land and the would sell it to maoris not the french.

There were two reason the population had dropped one was war when the war had started a lot of maoris had died but also another reason was dieses as diseases came the maori had not had enough medicine to help everyone.

The missionaries were very unhappy with the british because the had brung alcohol to New zealand and  had made New Zealand worse.

That's all of it goodbye .

reflection

KIA Ora to the people reading this today i am going to be explaining what i have been doing this week in hurmanu .

Through out this week in  the maths part of this hurumanu we have been learning about grouping data, histograms and frequency charts. In the health part of this hurumanu we have been learning about different types of relationships, the negative and positive parts of a relationship and what a bad and good friendship looks like.

In the health part we we looking at traffic lights as green was a good friendship sign, yellow a warning sign and red as a bad sign and not to be friends. One of the question we were asked was if your friend pear pressers you to do something are they true friends most of us said yellow because sometimes pear presser can be encouragement but sometimes it could be to hurt someone or to hurt you or ruin your life.We also discussed how some dissension can ruin your friendship or even your life.

In the maths part of this hurmanu we were learning about grouping data we made a telly chart about the teachers ages and what we thought there age group was. after woulds we had gotten three teachers so we could guess there age, we got some right. Afterwards we had worked on a piece of paper to see if we understood what we had learned so that we could move on and get a hashtag on two things. Then we learnt how to make a histogram for our investigation on teachers ages could be transported to a chart which would be a little easier to understand.

this was my reflection thank u for reading byeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeed

Climate Change and the future

Hurumanu: Climate Change and the future

Aim; To look at the different ways we can prevent climate change in the future

What places will be effected?
Beaches, peoples homes, close to the coast pacific islands,
people close to the coast

What else do we need to think about?
Finding more efficient ways to improve our  daily lives because if we dont then we could release a lot more green house gasses which we dont want.

What other places around NZ will be affected?

What does this do to our drinking water?
It will ad sea water to our clean water which could badly affect us.

What are the main concerns?
  1.

What can we do?
  1.  Use public transport
  2.   Use solar efficient cars
  3. Less greenhouse gasses
  4. Not use so much technological
  5.

What is the one, silver bullet solution?

What is the mix of things we need to start doing?
  1.
  2.

What are 3 others you can think of?
  1.

  2.
Activities:

Carbon Footprint

Carbon Footprint explained

Dwelling
Water
Recreation
Heating and cooling
Electricity
Transportation
Food
Waste
Air Travel
Consumption

Colour 1: for actions they are already doing
Colour 2: for actions that they pledge to undertake in the future

Ecological Handprint The Ecological handprint builds on the concepts from the Carbon Footprint. We will look at the positive actions of:

  1. Transportation
  2. Community
  3. Consumption
  4. Water
  5. Food
  6. Home
  7. Waste

1 Colour: For each action you are already doing
2 Colour: For each action you would like to do in the future
