story boarding for art

Today in art we went to the next step of the stop motion. We had to choose what the story based is going to be what I mean is, is the characters made out of clay, is the story going to be made on the whiteboard or is the characters going to be made of object (shell, rubbish or etc). The next step was what the story was going to be based on, our story was based on caring. Then we brainstormed the whole story on a storyboard.

On the storyboard we had to put the scenery in and the characters. At the bottom was space for us to put down what was going on in that part of the story. We had each other choose what they wanted to do. Alliah chose to do the drawing, Lyan chose to do the writing, Jolly Rose chose to help us with the drawings by just putting some extra effect and I chose to describe to Alliah what the scene was going to look like.

Our story was about a grandmother who meets her granddaughter Wairua and then they grow a awesome bond with each other than she finds out she has cancer the granddaughter would be with her all the time. Then a few years later she died, her dying wish was for Wairua to graduate. Wairua promised her so she worked hard to get into college and then she made it. A lot of concentration went into her work then she finally made it.

Then she grew older and had the same relation ship with her grandson and the same thing happened over and over again. The main thing about the story is that the grandchildren have cared for the elders and loved them till the day they died.

Here is the work we had done and see how well Alliah had drawn:

Rainbow paper

Materials;

1. cup
2. paper
3. water
4. colored pens
5.
6.

Process:

Step 1: Grab a piece of  chromatography.
Step 2: Chose 2 colored felts (light colors)
Step 3:Use a pencil to mark a  line 1cm.
Step 4: Fold chromatography paper and put it in the cup. (make sure it is not touching bottom.
Step 5: wait
Step 6: Then see as your paper transforms.

Findings: Write about what happened.

Reflection: What have I learnt from this experiment?

Skittles

Aim: To separate colours by using the process of chromatography.

Materials;

1.skittles
2.water
3. petry container
4.
5.
6.

Process:

Step 1: Grab a hand full of skittles.
Step 2: Place skittles in petry container.
Step 3:Place skittles in the outside on inside of container.
Step 4:Add water until it is halfull.
Step 5:Wait until you transform.
Step 6:look as it transform your container.

Findings: Write about what happened.
The water was transformed to beautiful color and then it was like the water ate the skittles.

Reflection: What have I learnt from this experiment?
That the water can transform the skittles if is placed in a circle.

What did the colours do?Mix/ go to the middle.
Did the colours mix together?yes.
Why or why not? After we mixed it with our fingers.

Extension:

What is another experiment you could do using chromatography and how would you do it.We could it using m and ms to do it another way.

Aim: To learn the names of 10 household chemicals and identify if they are a solid, liquid or a gas.

Definitions:

  1. Element; A single form of a chemical
  2. Compound: A mixture made up of 2 or more elements
  3. Reaction: A process in which chemicals mix together to form a new substance.
  4. Mixture: When two or more elements are mixed together.

material:

  1. Lemon juice
  2.   salt
  3.   sugar
  4.   vinegar
  5.   Lemonade bubbles
  6.   Onion gas
  7.   Baking soda
  8.  milk
  9.  corn flour
  10.   banana
Steps:

1. Find there name
2. Find there chemical name
3. Find an image
4. then clarify if its a liquid, solid or gas

Repeat the steps for all the chemicals.

Task 1: Put the 10 chemicals in a chart with the titles - Name, Chemical ingredient(s), Image, Solid/Liquid/Gas.
