Aim: To learn about the rate that different materials decompose.

• Hypothesis: I think that banana will rot the fastest because when it is left outside of its skin it is open to carbon dioxide which when food is left out it can be contaminated by flies and by diseases that are in the air from sick people or even from small bugs that are out and around us. The banana will then become black ,really soft , moldy and even can have flies in/ hovering/outside of it.The reason that i think it will rot first is because bananas are really soft and has things in it which can rot fast and can not preserve it.

Conclusion: The answers for them both were the same because pretty much nothing changed. I found this experiment very weird and interesting seeing which food tube would \=
. The smell of these expermint was disgusting and i felt sick

Drama

Throughout the week we have been learning about slam poems.
We watched a slam poem by two girls. Later after that we had to write our own slam poem, me and belle made open about sexuality. We wrote about sexuality because a lot of people are being judged about there sexuality. I think that this is an important think to make a poem about it because most of this generation have changed also a a lot of people are being judged because they either like another gender or want to be another gender. I feel that people that are trans, gay, bisexual or lesbian are special no one should judge them because they are special.

Holidays

Hello everyone.Today I am going to be blogging about my holidays.During the holidays I went down to Dunedin to meet new family.When I did I got to meet my new baby cousins, I also got to meet my Nan.During the time we were there we got to try my Nan's cooking and we went to the park a lot.

We also helped my aunty pick a pet for my cousin  birthday.My aunty brought her two pet mice we got to name them, we named one  Max because he kept going to my baby cousin Max and also because we named most of our pets Max only because my aunty likes that name. We named the second mice tiger because my brothers favorite animals are tigers and the mice looked a bit similar to a tiger.     

After we got the animals we went to pick up my cousin from school, after we picked her up we took her home. As she opened her room door she was screaming in joy.We had brought an enclosure for the mice and set it up in her room.She got so many presents from other family's and from us. For her birthday she wanted a movie night so we went to my uncles house and in his backyard was a big movie set up.We watched old movies such as lion king,Dr do little, despicable me and toy story. 

As toy story was ending we had to pack because the next morning was our flight. As it was becoming morning we were rushed to wake up and get in the car.Our stuff were already in the car.As we got to the airport we had to get on the plane we almost missed our flight.

As we arrived in Christchurch our grandparents picked us up and took us home I found going down south amazing and it was great to meet new family and try my Nan's cooking but it was also good to be home in my warm comfy bed.

Changes and challenges

Hello bloggers today i am going to be writing about a special guest visit, today we had a guy called Isaac come to our school he is the first new Zealander to ever row across the Atlantic ocean. I found it awesome that if you put your mind to something you can succeed. He is an inspiration as he had dreams and those dreams actually came true. When he gave us some advice i took that advice and thought how i could change my mindset attitude towards succeeding in life. I was amazed by how if you put time into something you want to do you can succeed it. Him coming and talking to us makes me want to focus on the future and what i want to do rather then waiting till then.

 Hello bloggers i am going to be writing about moving into the new kahui  because i found it an experience .On Monday 23 of September TS and SH moved into the new kahui together. So far TS and SH have been working together as one class.I found it interesting to work with another class because it would be better if we had class games or if we had to do a team task we could have smaller teams with more people in other teams.

When I walked into the new building I saw...

When I walked into the new kahui I saw a huge building i was really excited that we were moving into the kahui with another class, i was wondering how we would work in a bigger space and with more people. It felt different walking in because it was a lot bigger and more spacious, the buildings reminded me of the learning commons. I found it awesome that the tvs were lighting up because of the led lights behind it, i also found it awesome that all three buildings were named after native birds, the building TS and SH are in now is called tieke, tieke is a native bird to new zeland.

When I walked into our new building I thought...

I thought there was more space for you to independently work on your own or with others.It felt really odd and weird because it was so big but it felt awesome because it was easier to get to our other classes because they weren't far it also felt awesome because we could change it around if it did not suit us we could also remove things and make space for new objects such as tables, chairs, comfortable seating and totraes. It was really cool to find out that we were moving in with another class.

When I walked into our new buildings I felt...

I felt amazed by the way the buildings were placed out and set up. I felt that when they named the buildings after the native birds to new zeland that it felt more welcoming that it was named after native animals.I felt happy that we got a bigger learning space. I felt like i wanted to say a huge thank you to all the people that spent hours and hours on this building and making it as safe as possible so that we could have a classroom to learn in.

Those bloggers that have read this moving in to these buildings has been an experience it has been amazing moving into these because it is new and trying new things is good for you .During the time they were making the kahui it took them 2 years to build all three buildings Mohua, Riroriro and Tieke. The school had to get 27 million to pay for all three buildings so that the the school had a better learning space. This learning space is amazing as it gives us a bigger more shift able space to work in, either independently or individual. When we were in the other building we learnt how to talk at mummer with the doors open so when we moved in to the new kahui we could work with others and by our self without disrupting the class. I could not believe what i saw when i walked in because Builders spent 2 years (17520 hours) people took that much time out of there everyday life to give all of the year 7 and 8 a better learning space to use in our everyday life, it makes me want to come to school more often because it feels more comfortable. They also made a small grass area with fake grass outside the kahui. It has a small hill so people to go sit and talk to others. It has plants around it for native animals or just us humans to walk around. I found it so cool haw it had a scenic area outside so we could look at the flowers grow and see all the birds land on them, I found this the best feature. Thank you for reading this and thank you to the people who built this buildings for us.

Today in period 3-4 we watched a document about the environment called 2040, it was about how our green house gasses are causing us as humans pain.I think that this documentary is help full because it can help humans change into a better and more comfortable place for people to live. In the future i hope it is better and can change, I hope that the earth changes because at the moment earth isn't at its full standers i find if people watch this video it gives people a better understand of why we need to change the way we recycle things and how we use fossil fuels. People need to know that there actions can affect the way it affects the world and others. Our action now could affect the future generation. I learned that i need to reduce using plastic and to use the three Rs. I was surprised that this isn't helping people find out that the way they are living now isn't helping us it is making things worse if people see this they would know to change there actions immediately then keep doing what they are doing this video should be shared around the world so people will change if they know what to change.
